The Four-Part Model
Three-day learning path
Day 1 — Design: adult learning, observable outcomes, session design and facilitator preparation. Candidates teach a short concept using an approved structure.
Day 2 — Deliver and coach: presence, clear instructions, questioning, listening, inclusive participation, role-play, difficult moments and specific feedback. Candidates lead an activity and coach a second attempt.
Day 3 — Demonstrate: program fidelity, assessment, a scored practicum, coaching and the decision about authorization. Candidates deliver a segment from an approved Safer Pros Academy program.
How certification is earned
The final practicum is a 20-minute facilitation segment: opening, instruction, participant practice, debrief and transfer to the job. Evaluators score opening and outcomes, content accuracy, presence, clarity, questions, inclusion, practice and feedback, debrief, timing and close.
Certification requires at least 85 of 100 overall, at least 80% on the knowledge assessment, every rubric dimension at Proficient or above, and no critical failure. Outcomes are Certified, Certified with Field Coaching, or Not Yet Certified. A candidate who does not yet meet the standard receives feedback and a development plan.
After the classroom
The first live delivery is observed against the same standards, followed by coaching within 48 hours. Quarterly calibration helps master trainers apply the rubric consistently. Authorization records name the programs a facilitator may deliver and include effective and review dates.
